Mid Ulster suffered their first home defeat of the season on Wed 26 April10.  The girls started brightly and were holding their own against the strong and well organised visitors.  However the home team suffered two body blows mid way through the first half when Ballymena took a two goal lead.  The first was a looping shot from outside the box that caught out Mid Ulster number 1 Debbie Rankin.  The second was from a corner when Nicki Stevenson sneaked in at the back post to bullet a header into the net.   Mid Ulster battled back and Simone Magill and Michelle Scott were working their socks off trying to create chances.  The Ballymena defence were resolute but their was nothing they could do when Simone Magill was floored just outside the box.  She picked herself up and coolly slotted the ball into the top left hand corner of the net to get Mid Ulster back into the game. The second half saw changes to the Mid Ulster line up as the home team pushed to draw level in the game.  Louise Murphy replaced Ruth McGarvey and Chloe Barnes came on for Clare Charles and with fresh legs the Mid Ulster girls pushed forward once more.  Unfortunately another corner was to leave the home team with a mountain to climb as Ballymena met the ball at the near post to head home.    As a final roll of the dice Racheal Stewart came on for Colleen McCullagh and Mid Ulster went all out to get back into the game.  Their were a few chances for the home team but a combination of good goalkeeping and bad luck meant there to be no further goals in the game.  Final score Mid Ulster 1 Ballymena Allstars 4.
