Mid Ulster crash out of the cup

The girls suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Newbridge Predators on Monday night at Victoria Park.  With a number of players missing through injury and holidays the Mid Ulster girls still had a different look than normal but it was still a reasonably strong line up.  The first 10 minutes looked good for the visitors and when Michelle Derby beat the offside trap everyone thought it was the breakthrough but to the groans of the visiting supporters the ball rolled cms wide.  This seemed to kick start the Predators and they began to take control of the game.  Some wayward shooting and some great goalkeeping from Tracy Elliott kept the Mid Ulster girls in the game but it was only a matter of time before Predators took the lead.  At the half time break Mid Ulster girls were still in the game but they couldnt get into the swing of things and Simone Magill wasnt getting a lot of service up front.  A scrappy goal opened the scoring and shortly after Preds won a penalty which they duly converted and things just went downhill after that for the visitors.  Preds added a further 5 goals but  pride was slightly restored for the visitors by a well taken individual goal from Simone Magill.  One to forget for the Mid Ulster contingent.
