Well its been a while since Ma has got round to updating the website so she will try to condense all the latest news into a short article. First up, First Kicks... this programme running on Saturday mornings in Cookstown Leisure centre has been a huge success with 25 kids plus taking part every session so far. The hard working team will get a lie in this Saturday 26 February as the programme takes a break but it resumes on 5 March 11am – Mid day. The team of Elaine Chief administrator and Alarm call expert, Ruth B Super coach and her glamorous assistants Brooke and Scouser Ladien are to be commended for all their hard work and commitment. Of course we can’t forget the one week cameo appearance of Sunnie too! On a serious note it is great fun and really encouraging to see all the talent in this age group. This is the future of Mid Ulster Ladies so anyone interested in attending or helping would be more than welcome. Second New Addition

Alfie awwww!!!

The club also welcomed another new addition to the squad in the last month. Not to be outdone by Myky and Lily, Lisa got herself a baby all of her own. Say hello to Alfie the Mid Ulster Mighty Mascot. The super cute pup has been making a name for himself on Youtube chasing papers and fluffy toys and he has more female admirers than Justin Bebop.

Preseason training Preseason Training is now in full swing and the girls are working hard on Monday nights in anticipation of the new season. Although Ma has been taking the sessions so far (to break you in gently) Noel has been casting a watchful eye over proceedings and both coaches are impressed with the effort by all attending. The winter 5 aside appears to have been a good idea as there is definitely a better standard of touch and control a little bit less rustiness than in previous pre season sessions. The 5 aside is still continuing in Moneymore recreation centre and not only is this a great way to build up skill and fitness but it is a good opportunity for an hour of laughter (mainly thanks to Karen Handbag). Tuesday past was like an episode of dancing on Ice but thankfully nobody did any lasting damage. International Exploits Apparently Simone is heading off to Cyprus with the N.Ireland squad for the Cyprus cup over Easter but we haven’t heard much about it. She probably can fit it into the conversation as she is constantly talking about Justin Bebop and Coccyx bones (sore bum bone to most people). Hopefully we will get a website report. Poor Lisa has to listen to it more than most as she chauffeurs her up and down to training. Jackie is training with the Under 15 squad and Hayley with the U19 squad so its all go for our international contingent. The county girls: Emma, Lyn, Jackie, Jessica McG, Jessica JLS, Hayley and Simone have all excelled at the excellence programme and it is great to see these girls at indoor and at full senior training now too. In the recent festival days the Under 14 group didn’t concede any goals and had two wins and a draw. The Under 16 group drew with Down, beat a very strong Derry team and narrowly lost out to Antrim. Well done to all! Orange is the colour!! As that advertising slogan used to say “ the futures bright the futures Orange!!” and it certainly is if you are a Mid Ulster fan. The new Adidas kit is on order and everybody who is anybody will be in an orange shirt this season. There may be a few spare if you are lucky so talk to Lisa if you fancy getting yourself one.

Funny looking girl!!
