The Mid Ulster U15s travelled to Lisburn on Saturday to compete in the NIWFA U 15 League.  After much gathering up of players and a number of speeding tickets being accrued by dedicated parents the Mid Ulster girls took to the field.  The Lisburn girls started well and had the early pressure as the Mid Ulster girls struggled to get into the game.  Even with all the pressure it was going to take something special to beat Jacqueline Burns in the Mid Ulster goal.  Unfortunately it wasnt special just bizarre when it came as a cross into the box ricocheted off the Lisburn strikers shin and past Jackie in goals.  The Mid Ulster girls didnt let this get to them and as the half progressed they got more into the game. The second half saw a rejuvenated Mid Ulster side emerge (must have had plenty of energy drinks at the break).  The girls were to quicker to the ball, more tenacious in the tackle and more lively all over the pitch.  The game was end to end with both teams playing great football and creating chances.  As the game wore on Mid Ulster forced a number of corners and then the sister act struck one again.  Spurred on by the promise of an exclusive prize for scoring Rachel Kelly played the corner in and sister Samantha was on hand to drive a low shot into the bottom corner and draw the game level.  This rocked the Lisburn girls and they put on the pressure but Emma McFarland and her back line were standing firm and a switch of wings was working well for Lyn Sommerville.  Anna Donnelly was tireless in her work rate up front and Mollie Young showed great feet to beat her marker but just couldnt get her shot away.  As Lisburn pressed Jackie Burns had to pulled off a finger tips save and this should have rang the warning bells for the visitors.  Moments later and with the clock running down a super strike from Lisburns Annie Timoney settled the result.  In the last few minutes Mid Ulster pressed for an equaliser but it was not to come and the game finished 2-1 to Lisburn.
