Mid Ulster girls were out in force representing the Green and white Army or GAWA.  Ma only recently figured out what this meant!!  The Under 15 squad retained the Bob Docherty Trophy under the guidance of our one and only Noel Mitchell and with 3 Mid Ulster juniors in the squad.  Jacqueline Burns who was was also in the squad last year was joined by Emma McFarland and Samantha Kelly this year and the girls were superb defeating Scotland, Wales and the hosts Rep of Ireland to retain the trophy.  Visit the IFA website to see further reports and photos: http://www.irishfa.com/news/item/7215/u15s-girls-receive-a-presidential-welcome-home/

Meanwhile Simone "Sunnie" Magill and Hayley O'Donnell travelled to the U19 squad to Sweden to compete in the Elite qualification for the European Championships.  This is the first time a N.Ireland team has reached this stage of the competition and the girls gave a great account of themselves against the more established footballing nations.  The girls ended the competition on a high with a 3-0 victory over Poland.  Once again further details at the IFa website http://www.irishfa.com/news/item/7216/ni-u19-women-defeat-poland/ and uefa website http://www.uefa.com/womensunder19/season=2012/teams/team=600063/index.html
