Mixed fortunes for Juniors

The Mid Ulster U13 team has competed in the Junior league for the last two saturdays but Ma just didnt get round to writing about it.  On Saturday 26 May the girls travelled to Kernan and enjoyed a 5-0 win over Banbridge in their first game.  Goals from Eimear McGarrity, Jessica Magee, Sophie Magee, Molly Young and Kirsten Henry set the girls up for their first victory.  The second game was a test of the defensive qualities of the team and although Megan Ferson pulled off some smashing saves and Rachel Rodgers was her usual resiliant self (even playing with a fractured arm) the girls couldnt avoid a 2-0 defeat.

Happy Shiny Juniors

On 2 June the venue was a bit closer to home. MUSA was the venue and ironically enough Mid Ulster were struggling to get numbers for a team.  With Rachel out with her arm and a number of other players unavailable a much younger team turned out for games against Sion Swifts and Banbridge.  First up were Banbridge and the game was tight but Banbridge seized the initiative in the second half and ran out 3-0 winners.  A bit of reshuffling for the game against Sion swifts saw a number of girls try out in goals and they all gave it their best shot but they couldnt prevent Sion running out 7-4 winners.  Mind you Megan Ferson our normal goalkeeper scored and Jessica Magee and Molly Young were also on target so there were a lot of positives to be taken out of the game.  Well done to the goal scorers and to Annie McKenna, Bridget Quinn, Taylor Robb and Sophie Magee.  A big thank you to our loyal supporters Rachel R who would have played if we could have hidden her plaster, Roisin, Darryl and the Cullen family especially our stars of the future Rebecca and Ellie.
