The U13s travelled to Shankill leisure centre on Sunday for the final week of the Futsal league.  Ballynahinch had already wrapped up the league title and technically the Mid Ulster girls had secured runners up spot but this didnt stop their desire to finish off with a win.  The opponents were Lisburn and it was a changed team that took to the pitch.  The excellence session early on Sunday had claimed a couple of victims and Keeper Megan Ferson and Striker Mollie Young were ruled out for the clash with injury but they came along to offer their support to the rest of the team. Rachel Rodgers stepped up to the challenge of taking the gloves and wearing the very warm goalkeeper kit and she was her usuual reliable self.  Kirsten Henry maintained the back line and made life difficult for the lisburn girls ably assisted by Eimear McGarrity and Jessica Magee.  The two girls also found time to go on the attack as well and up front the flexible strike force of Lilie Crooks, Sophie Magee and Annie McKenna struck terror into the Lisburn defence.  The game was tight with both teams swapping goals until  Mid Ulster pulled away in the second half running out 5 -2 winners with goals from Eimear McGarrity, Annie McKenna and a hat trick from Jessica McGee. After the victory the girls were presented with a lovely trophy and medals from the Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast.

Then there was a mad dash to the carpark where Daddy Darryll revealed the long awaited culinary creations.  Carefully transported in a cool box (this guy is a pro), the buns were distributed to one and all.  Thumbs up all round for the buns, so good we could even skip the normal shop stop on the way home.
