Deborah Rankin a former Goalkeeper for the Mid Ulster Ladies and has spent the last few months  bringing joy to young girls in Kenya.  Debs has been working with an organisation called 'Ripples international' which is a Christian organisation in Kenya.   They have an orphanage and a centre for girls who are victims of defilement. Debs is working along with the young girls ages 4-16 playing sports/games, and creative activities. Debs had asked Mid Ulster Ladies if they could provide any equipment etc that she could use in this work and the club was delighted to help contributing bibs and some sports equipment which Debs brought with her to Kenya.  Whilst it may not have seemed very much to us Debs tell us that "Just showing the young girls love and getting them involved in activities is such a blessing because it is the simple things in life that make the difference, we take so much for granted at home and never take the time to make a difference in a young persons life who has been through so much, or we need think how someone has been affected by traumas they have been involved in.  It's just about showing Gods love at the end of the day."
