Saturday 19 December saw the Mid Ulster players and supporters gather in the Royal Hotel Cookstown to celebrate the 2013 season and to enjoy a night of merriment and fun. The club were delighted to welcome a number of guests to the event and none was more welcome than the prodigal daughter Sunnie Simone Magill. Simone joined Everton ladies this season to be the first player from Mid Ulster to play in the English Womens Super league. The club were also delighted to welcome Mid Ulster Association and IFA committee member Norman Livingstone and the N.Ireland U17 goalkeeping coach Lee Wilson to share in the celebration. After a lovely meal club chairperson Elaine Junk welcomed all and oversaw the proceedings. First up were the Junior awards and Junior coach Clare Charles paid tribute to the dedication of the Girls and their parents involved in the Junior section. The U13s had tasted success as runners up in the Futsal league and winners of the NIWFA Mid Ulster U13 Junior league. A number of the clubs members were also members of the County excellence programme. Clare also stressed the importance of all the other fun events in which the girls had participated and whilst all the junior players were recognised as winners the individual awards were as follows: Player of the year Joint winners Eimear McGarrity & Jessica Magee Most improved: Casey Howe Junior Club person Joint winners Rachel Rodgers & Sophie Magee

Next up was Club Captain Claire Rooney.  Claire thanked the players for their commitment, Noel for his work with the team and all the parents and back room team.  Claire pointed out that the Mid Ulster girls were a force to be reckoned with and the new signings to the club this year had added to what was already a strong foundation.  Claire rounded up by encouraging the girls to aim even higher in 2014. Some inspiring words from the guest speakers followed and both speakers told those gathered to appreciate and be proud of what they had in place in their club.  With both gentlemen having a range of experience in football it is encouraging for everyone involved in Mid Ulster that we are hopefully going about things the right way.  After a guest appearance by Jackie Fullerton the senior awards were next on the agenda: Players player of the year and awarded the Jacqueline Moore memorial trophy was Captain Fantastic Claire Rooney

After recognising our international representatives and the presentation of a gift to our main sponsor Andrea from the Railway it was down to the most coveted prize of the night.  Junkies Joker. It would be easier to name who wasnt in the running for this one and after the dirt was dished on just about everyone in attendance it was the introduction of the new Mrs Mitchell and seeing Emmas dancing that meant the trophy would be shared between serial winner Emma and Noel. Some very dodgey singing, crutch dancing and Dad dancing followed and a great night was had by all.  See the Tyrone Courier for the official pictures (if it hasnt sold out already!!!)
