Sunday 27th October was another milestone in the future development of Mid Ulster Ladies when 8 players were recognised for their achievements playing in the Green and white shirts for NI at various age groups. Alfie Wylie (International Manager) hosted the evening in the Stormont Hotel along with David Healy presenting the medals caps and both gentlemen paid testament to the amount of time, effort and commitment required from all the girls present, their Clubs and indeed in the case of the younger players the support from their parents. The following players were recognised -: Sarah Connolly – U15 Bob Doherty tournament Chloe McCarron / Emma McFarland / Jacqueline Burns and Samantha Kelly – NI U17 Aoife Curran and Hayley O’Donnell – NI U19 Adele Gillespie – NI Senior Women Noel Mitchell (Manager of Mid Ulster Ladies) said “it is fantastic for me as a manager to see these girls being recognised at International level and just at the start of 2013 I had the privilege of being involved in the decision of Simone Magill to go across to England to play on a professional basis for Everton Ladies in the Womens Super League. I am confident that with continued hard work and effort in the next few years we will see some of our current crop of girls emulate Simone’s success. Within the Club we will always strive for excellence for all our players as the ethos is that we want them to be the best that they can possibly be and as their manager and coach I will help provide them with every opportunity possible. We also have a flourishing junior section and there are several very talented players in that group so it is an exciting time for the Club and the players and I hope that next year even more girls from the Club are recognised for their achievements”.
