Mid Ulster Ladies FC

Welcome to Mid Ulster Ladies Football Club.

Mid Ulster Ladies FC are proud to be the only women’s only football club in Mid Ulster, attracting players from across the region.
Formed in 2000 by current chairperson, Elaine Junk, the club has grown considerably since its early days on the gravel pitch beside Beechway!

The club now boasts an academy the envy of the game, with teams competing in IFA small-sided games, at futsal tournaments and in U12, U13, U14, and U16 leagues across the country.

“At the Cemcor Mid Ulster Ladies Academy we strive to identify, nurture, and develop the best local players to help them achieve their football goals. From the Little Dribblers Program through to our U16 squad we provide UEFA and IFA certified coaching pathways, excellent indoor, outdoor, and all-weather facilities, as well as a range of tiered competitions to accommodate players at all levels on their journey to senior football.

Our Academy works in partnership with our Senior Ladies Management Team to create pathways to the NI Women’s Premiership and beyond for our players. Indeed, 3 of our graduates* have gone on to full-time professional careers in England, and we will continue to create these opportunities for players via our Elite Development Program.”
Gerard Moore, Academy Director

*Current Reading Women and NI goalkeeper Jackie Burns, Newcastle United Women and NI goalkeeper Lilie Crooks-Woods, and the holder of the fastest ever Women’s International goal (v Georgia, 2006) Simone Magill, now plying her trade in the WSL with Aston Villa.

The ethos of growth and setting standards in central to Mid Ulster Ladies, and many of our current senior players, including captain Hannah Turkington, vice-captain Rachael Rodgers, and reserve team captain Chloe McReynolds are coaches in the Academy, passing on vital knowledge and experience to our next generation of players.

Off the field, Mid Ulster Ladies is proud to be a welcoming and nurturing environment for all, with the recent establishment of a new Pastoral Team. Through Club Chaplain Michael Currie and Chaplain-In-Training, Chloe McReynolds, encouragement and support can be found in a safe and confidential space. Consistent Pastoral Care is available to everyone involved in the Mid Ulster Ladies FC family.
2023 saw the club take teams to the prestigious Foyle Cup, entering the U9, U11, U13, and U15 sections allowing the girls to showcase their talents on one of the biggest stages in Northern Ireland Youth Football. (The chants of ‘Mid Ulster’s Fire, Your Defence is Terrified’ will echo around the pitches of Derry/Londonderry for some time to come!)

At senior level the club has enjoyed success, winning the Mid Ulster League Championship in 2005, which led them just three years later to the top flight by beating Glenavon in a play-off to reach the Premier League for the first time. Over the years the women’s game has undergone some restructuring, and in 2021 Mid Ulster Ladies FC again reached the pinnacle of the game, gaining promotion to an extended Premiership, where they have retained their position ever since. Along the years the have competed in the Mid Ulster Cup, recently defeated Craigavon City to win the Cup for the fourth time in a row, adding to their successes in 2014 and 2015.
